Training

Whilst we spend time working with you on the flat or over fences, we also ensure that we have trainers at the stables on a weekly basis. We regularly hold clinics with top riders and are always introducing new riders and trainers to the yard, helping you to train towards your goals and become the best rider you can be. The clinics are open to liveries and non-liveries so keep a check on the website and our Facebook page for details.

Our Trainers

Anthony Lyons – Dressage rider and trainer.
Anthony Lyons – Dressage rider and trainer.

Anthony has been working in the equestrian industry for the past 14 years, starting at an East London riding school where he passed my BHS exams.

After working at a range of yards, from showjumping to hunting and finally dressage, Anthony started as a groom for international rider Paul Hayler where he then trained with Olympic rider Vicky Thompson-Winfield for a number of years training young horses to GP-level.

Anthony’s methodology focuses on good communication between rider and horse and achieving a solid understanding of the underlying principles of dressage, this helps riders improve across a number of areas including performance at home or in the test arena.

Franck Bourny
Franck Bourny

Franck has based himself in both France and England for the duration of his equestrian career; he now spends two weekends of the month teaching here at Brookfield.

He originally came to England in his late teens where he was based for many years with Mark Todd, it was here he gained the valuable experience he needed to make the transition from Junior Young Rider to international 4*.

Franck has been fortunate enough within his eventing career to partner some special horses; none more so than Mallard’s Treat. It was with this horse he won Blenheim and Punchestown as well as taking 2nd place at Burgie all within a year. His success continued with many other exceptional event horses with wins at Windsor and many other top ten placings at 2 and 3 star level.

This has allowed him to compete at some of the worlds more challenging events; including taking J U Bobby Sox clear around Badminton in 2002. It is this experience and knowledge he hopes to share with his clients.

He now chooses to divide himself between show jumping full time in France and passing on his wealth of knowledge to his pupils here in England. Teaching is a passion Franck has always taken pleasure from while enjoying teaching riders of all abilities and watching them progress to their final goal.
